Grill and Ember BBQ Cookery Class - Two-Day Experience- cost includes round of golf.

Join us for a unique two-day BBQ cookery class that offers both an interactive cooking experience and a round of golf at the beautiful Ilkley Golf Club. Over the course of two days, you'll have the opportunity to master the art of BBQ cooking using the Big Green Egg, OFYR, Asado Grill, and DeliVita Pizza Oven.

Day 1: Golf and Brisket Preparation

Start your experience with a round of golf at the renowned Ilkley Golf Club. Start the day with a coffee & bacon sandwich in the clubhouse.

After this we will enjoy a challenging and picturesque 18 holes surrounded by stunning scenery. We will consist of two fourballs (Andrew, Will & six people attending the day). After an invigorating game, it's time to prepare for the main event - cooking a mouthwatering brisket.

In the evening, we will guide you through the process of marinating and preparing the brisket. Learn the secrets of creating rubs and marinades that will enhance the taste of the meat. The brisket will then be cooked low and slow, taking 12-18 hours, allowing all the flavours to develop for a tender and succulent result.

Day 2: BBQ Cookery Class

Join us for an exciting and immersive BBQ cookery class where you will get to experience the thrill of cooking with top-of-the-range equipment - the Big Green Egg, OFYR, Asado Grill, and DeliVita Pizza Oven. Throughout the course you will learn how to create a variety of delicious dishes using these versatile cooking tools and how to get the most out of the barbecues.

Food & drink included. You will eat everything we make, and take home anything that is left!

The day kicked off with Ernie treating us to cocktail sausages in a Dijon & honey sauce—absolutely delightful πŸ‘Œ. From there, we chose which BBQs we wanted to use throughout the day and dove into a full day of cooking, and here’s what we created: 🐠 Scallops wrapped in Parma ham, served on a minted pea purée. 🎣 Sea bass basted in homemade spicy butter, nestled on a bed of samphire (it was stunningly good). πŸ₯© Tomahawk steaks, reverse-seared in an offset smoker, then caramelised over coals πŸ”₯ Paired with hasselback potatoes and a top-notch chimichurri. πŸ‘ Peaches poached in cider, caramelised over flames, and served with mascarpone cream and boozy raisins. Not only was the food incredible, but we also picked up so many valuable tips we can bring back to our classes. Going to sessions like this, learning, and hearing your feedback is how we keep improving—it’s a win-win! If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, we can’t recommend a day with Hoggy & Ernie enough. Great food, excellent company, and even a solid selection of beers 🍻. This was their gourmet class, but they also offer a range of other classes, including family-friendly sessions during school holidays (where kids eat free!). It took about 5 hours to get to 93c when I took it off to rest. Some work still needed on the bark, I’ll add a can of beer to the baking tray between the conveggtor and brisket next time hoping to provide more moisture too. It probably needed to rest for a little longer too, but time is of the essence with a toddler! A much improved hot & fast brisket cooked on the @biggreenegguk at around 160c for 5 hours or so. This was 7kg so took a little longer than last time and I used a couple of cans of beer to keep the brisket moist Curry night! Tonight: @mistyricardo Rezala Chicken Curry 🌢️ πŸ₯œ 

All cooked on the @hellodelivita using @baltibowl stainless steel bowls and with a homemade garlic & coriander naan 😍

The flavours were amazing with a nice creaminess from the bl Hot & fast smoked brisket on the @biggreenegguk πŸ”₯

I’ve wanted to give this a go for a while now, so cooked this 5kg brisket at 150c (ish)on the Egg, using the conveggtor, and wrapped it in butchers paper when it stalled at 74c. It took ab Cooked breakfast on the @ofyr_uk πŸ”₯
